Pricing & Fees
How much do you charge?
Our fees depend on the complexity of your tax return and the services you need. After reviewing your situation, we'll provide a clear, upfront estimate before beginning any work. Our pricing is fair, transparent, and based on your individual tax situation. Because no two tax returns are exactly alike, our fees are determined by the complexity of your return, the forms required, and the amount of time needed to prepare it accurately. We'll discuss our pricing with you before we begin so there are no surprises.
How are your fees determined?
Our pricing is based on factors such as type of tax return, number of tax forms required, business income, investments, rental properties,self-employment income, and additional schedules or tax planning services.
Are there any hidden fees?
Absolutely not! We believe in transparent pricing. You'll know your fees before your return is completed, and we never charge hidden or unexpected fees.
Can my preparation fee be deducted from my refund?
Yes, depending on the products available during the filing season and your eligibility, you may have the option to have your preparation fee deducted from your tax refund. Additional fees are required for bank applications and processing.
When do I pay for my return?
Tax preparation fees are due at the time services are rendered, meaning payment is required once your tax return has been prepared and is ready for review and filing. Your return will not be electronically filed or released until full payment for tax preparation services has been completed. Please note that tax preparation fees are separate from any taxes owed. Any payments due to the IRS, state, or local tax authorities are not included in our service fees. If your return shows a balance due, it is your responsibility as the taxpayer to pay those amounts directly to the appropriate taxing agency by their required deadlines. We will always provide a clear explanation of both your tax preparation fee and any tax liability so you know exactly what is owed and to whom before filing.
Preparing Your Return
What documents do I need to bring?
Common documents include government-issued photo ID, IRS PTIN ID, social security cards (or ITIN documentation), W-2 forms, last paycheck of filing year, 1099 forms, mortgage interest statements, property tax records, investment statements, retirement income documents, childcare expenses, education expenses, medical expenses (when applicable), business income and expense records, and any IRS or state tax notices.
Can I upload my documents online?
Yes. We offer a secure document upload portal so you can safely submit your tax documents from anywhere.
How long does it take to prepare my return?
Most scheduled appointments last approximately one hour, although more complex returns may require additional time. Returns submitted electronically or dropped off are generally completed within a few business days after all required documents have been received. During peak tax season, turnaround times may be longer.
Can you review my previous year's tax return?
Absolutely. We can review previously prepared returns to identify errors, missed deductions or credits, and determine whether an amended return may be beneficial.
Can you prepare taxes if I've never used a professional before?
Yes! Many of our clients are first-time tax preparation customers. We'll guide you through the process, explain everything clearly, and make filing your taxes as simple as possible.
Refunds & Filing
Can you tell me how much my refund will be?
Once we review your tax documents, we can provide an estimate of your refund or any taxes owed. Since every tax situation is unique, we cannot accurately estimate your refund before reviewing your information.
Can you maximize my tax refund?
Our goal is to ensure you receive every deduction and tax credit you're legally entitled to while remaining fully compliant with IRS regulations.
How can I check the status of my return?
Once your return has been electronically filed, you can check the status of your federal refund using the IRS "Where's My Refund?" tool or contact our office for an update. To check the status of a state return, you will need to check the individual state return websites.
How do I track my tax refund?
After your return has been accepted by the IRS, most taxpayers can track their refund online through the IRS refund tracker. We'll also answer any questions you have about your refund status.
How soon can I receive my refund?
Most electronically filed returns with direct deposit are processed within approximately 21 days after IRS acceptance, although actual timing depends on IRS processing and individual circumstances.
Do you offer electronic filing (e-file)?
Yes. We electronically file federal and state tax returns whenever eligible, allowing for faster processing and confirmation of receipt.
Do I need to do anything after my taxes are filed?
If your federal and state tax returns are eligible for electronic filing (e-file), you will need to review and sign the required authorization forms before your return can be electronically submitted. Payment for services rendered is also due at that time. If your federal or state tax returns must be mailed, you will need to sign the tax return and mail it to the appropriate IRS or state tax agency. It is your responsibility to mail the return to ensure it is received by the appropriate taxing authority. We recommend mailing your return using a service that provides tracking or proof of delivery. Local tax returns typically cannot be electronically filed. They must be signed by the taxpayer and mailed to the appropriate local tax authority, along with any required payment, if applicable. If you owe taxes, be sure to submit any required payment by the filing deadline to avoid penalties and interest. If you're expecting a refund, you can monitor its status after your return has been accepted and processed. If you have any questions after your return is filed, we're happy to assist you throughout the year.
What happens if my return is rejected?
If your electronically filed return is rejected, we'll explain the reason, correct any eligible errors, and resubmit the return at no additional charge when appropriate.
